(ECNS) -- The third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) opened in Beijing Wednesday,drawing many representatives from Europe and the Americas, who expressed optimism about the potential of the Chinese market and their willingness to strengthen business cooperation with Chinese partners.

Although there are some tariff tensions, American companies still hope to work with Chinese counterparts, said Barbara Joe, director of operations at the Asian Chamber of Commerce Houston in Texas, the U.S., during an interview with China News Network.

She noted that the CISCE has provided a communication platform for Chinese and American businesses, especially those in the Houston area, helping foster cooperative relationships.

Victor Cadena, executive vice president of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China (MexCham China), said this is the second consecutive year that the chamber has organized Mexican companies to participate in the Expo. Over 10 Mexican companies and about 30 business representatives were present at this year’s event, marking a big expansion from 2024.

Cadena said that the MexCham China has been operating in the country for nearly 20 years and will continue to promote business cooperation between Chinese and Mexican companies.

He further noted that Mexico is China’s second-largest trading partner in Latin America, while China ranks as Mexico's second-largest trading partner globally. “We are very confident in the Chinese market,” he said.

Danijel Nikolic, assistant secretary general of the government of the Republic of Serbia, said that a total of 12 Serbian companies, primarily logistic firms, are showcasing at this year’s CISCE. aiming to transport raw materials from China to Serbia for processing before exporting them to third-party markets.

Nikolic noted that the strong political relationship between Serbia and China has created a favorable environment for trade.

He noted that China is one of the largest markets in the world, and Serbian companies hope to reach broad Chinese consumers via the expo.

“We are here to build a joint future between Serbia and Chinese people,”. Nikolic said.
